Subject Matter

If Subject Matter is enabled in the Q&A Configuration, an additional setting for configuring the subject matter and subject matter experts is activated i.e., Subject Matter

This window consists of two panels:

  • The Subject Matters panel from which subject matter categories can be added, edited, and deleted.
  • Subject Matter Experts panel from which subject matter experts can be assigned to or unassigned from the specific subject matter categories.

Create Subject Matter

To create a new subject matter, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the Subject Matter option from the left-hand navigation pane.
  2. Click +Add.


  3. On the Create Subject Matter window mandatorily specify the name.

  4. Optionally specify the description.
  5. Click Create.


Edit Subject Matters

To edit Subject Matter, follow the steps below:

  1. Select a subject matter from the list.
  2. Click +Edit.


  3. On the Edit Subject Matter window, update the Name and Description.
  4. Click Save.


Delete Subject Matter

To delete a Subject Matter category, follow the step below:

  1. Select a subject matter from the list.
  2. Click Delete.


  3. Click Yes on the confirmation pop-up.


Assigning Subject Matter Experts

To assign a subject matter expert to a subject matter, follow the steps below:

  1. Select a subject matter from the available list.
  2. Click +Add within the Subject Matter Experts panel.


  3. On the Select Users window, select the users from the list and click Select.


Note: When a user asks a question and assigns it to the Q&A category and Subject Matter during the creation of the question, the assigned expert will be notified that the question requires their attention. The expert can then view the question in the Q&A module.

Delete Subject Matter Experts

To remove users as Subject Matter Experts, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the users added as subject matter experts.
  2. Click Delete.
